In collaboration with TIU 11, our Project YES (Youth Excellence Services) after-school program organizes monthly field trip events to area businesses and organizations. These monthly experiential events and community education help Project YES children connect with their local community. We work with each site on curriculum development and our partners at the TIU 11 provide staffing support on-site. These experiences have been well-received by the children in the program (they don't want to spend more time in a classroom after all day at school, understandably). The participation, attendance, and engagement have improved as we've been able to recalibrate to get them off-site with the coordination of Mifflin County School District buses via TIU 11 and several partners.
